OSHA has new guidelines with safety protocols for businesses during the COVID epidemic. They are recommending that employers make sure they are aware of any possible spaces at their work which could put people at risk. They want people to wash hands frequently and make sure sick persons are staying home from work. Flexible hours and the option for employees to telecommute is also in the guidelines for ensuring that problems don’t occur in the work place.
- Develop an infectious disease response plan so that you and your workers are prepared for risks that could come from disease.
- Find ways to prevent infections such as providing workers with tissues and trash cans, encouraging the use of hand sanitizer and telling employees to stay home if they’re sick.
- Implement some workplace controls such as installing air filters and making hand washing mandatory within the workplace.
